Chris Boyle has established this building consultancy business to assist building and trade contractors, and consumers, in reducing the opportunity for disputation and for minimising the impact should a dispute occur. The consultancy will also extend to inspecting and reporting on building work in support of litigation or alternative dispute resolution.
Contractors and Consumers are well intentioned at the outset of a project. For most Contractors the work is second nature and therefore it is natural to take some things for granted. For most Consumers it will be a once or twice in a lifetime experience. There is often a gap in the understanding of both parties in what is to be delivered. The expectations are often quite different.This Consultancy aims to provide a Coaching and Mentoring service to reduce that gap.
When building disputes occur they are either Contractual or Technical in nature. Contractual disputes can usually be traced to the quality of documentation or the way in which the contract has been administered. Technical disputes relate to the quality or standard of work undertaken or the quality or standard of materials used in the work.
This Consultancy has the experience to ensure proper contractual documentation prior to work commencing, proper administration during construction and the technical expertise to advise on defective work.
